We are looking for a woman or a man to take up manual labor tasks, support the completion of projects and operations on residential worksites in the Ottawa region. This position does not require previous construction experience. 

We are looking for the right person who will come with an appetite to learn and grow in the role. One of the most important quality required for the position is attention to details. Your capacity to listen, your rapport with others, and self awareness are key. You’ll also must be comfortable with handling power tools such as saws and drills and construction materials such as drywall, thin-set and plywood. We’d like you to have stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads (a pail of paint is around 60lbs, so can be a bag of thin-set) You should be able to concentrate on performing your tasks and commit to safety rules. This role can grow into more site supervision or other directions depending on your personal aspirations.

In this role, you will be working directly with Stephanie the owner of the company.   

Responsibilities and requirements 

• Assist company owner on job site with construction work 
• Coordinate delivery and reception of materials on job sites
• Coordinate and assist other tradespeople on various sites
• Ensure the cleanliness of worksites from hazardous or obsolete material
• Handle and transport materials (e.g. cement) and equipment (e.g. drills and saws)
• Use power tools and machinery when needed
• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks
• Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 60 pounds etc.)
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
• Communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety rules
• Apprenticeship or specialization is an asset, but not necessary, apprenticeship available
• French / English bilingualism is appreciated, but not required

We are a fairly new business and our benefit packages are being built as we grow. You will receive:

 Salaried position

 2 weeks of paid vacation for the first year and 3 weeks starting the second year 

5 paid sick days a year 

Medical and dental insurance starting after the probationary period 

Annual closure between Boxing Day and New Year’s day 

We are looking for a woman or a man, skilled carpenter who are passionate about carpentry and have previous Carpentry experience within the restoration, renovation and/or the construction industry. Our carpenters assist on various residential renovation jobsites.  

One of the most important qualities required for the position is attention to details. Your capacity to listen, your rapport with others, and self awareness are key.  This position could lead to supervision responsibilities over time.

• Self-sufficient in drywalling, taping and mudding 
• Must be able to paint, do trim work and preform demolition when needed 
• Keep record details on all work performed 
• 2-3+ years experience in a similar role 
• Must have a positive attitude
• Must be reliable and on-time for every shift 
• Experience with power and hand tools and comfortable maneuvering a ladder 
• Willingness to learn but self sufficient in drywalling, taping, mudding, painting and trim work 
• Valid Drivers License with a Clean Driving Abstract is preferred 
• Clean Criminal Record Check 
• Create punch lists (task lists) and ensure completion of work 
• Commitment to safety rules 
• Communication and teamwork skills 
• French / English bilingualism is appreciated, but not required
